The Equity of Love: Scaling Beyond the Hustle with the Right Partner

In February 2018, I did the most important "merger and acquisition" of my life. I got married to the love of my life, Zulfah.

Looking at us now, as we build what I like to call a dynasty, it’s easy to forget how it all started. It wasn't a long, drawn-out courtship. We had mildly known each other in our undergraduate years — we were the "hi-hi" kind of acquaintances. But by 2017, when I realized I was ready to settle down, her name came up through a mutual friend.

There was just one small problem: she was ghosting me.

The Tech-Savvy Pursuit

Zulfah, an extremely intelligent Economist and at the time a newly Chartered Accountant, wasn’t exactly waiting by the phone for some tech guy to call. She didn't want to connect. But I’ve always said that being tech-savvy is about more than just writing code; it’s about finding a way where others see a dead end.

I used my skills to get her contact. I sent messages. She kept ghosting. I persisted. I wasn't being a nuisance; I was proving that I was serious. Eventually, the wall came down. In a few short months, the clarity was undeniable. I knew she was the one I wanted to build a life with.

She wasn't just a partner; she was a strategist with a flair for fashion and a mind for numbers that made mine look slow.

From Snazzee to Haqqman

At the time, I was running Snazzee Interactive Company. It was my first real business "baby," but as I looked at the person sitting across from me, I realized the vision I had was suddenly too small. Snazzee Interactive couldn't contain what we were about to build.

Without blinking an eye and without overthinking the "business logic," I immediately gave her equity in our newly formed company: Haqqman.

I didn't do it just because I loved her. I did it because she had the residue of greatness. She had the discipline. While I was the visionary running at 100mph, she was the stabilizing force who knew how to balance a high-stakes 9-to-5 career with the chaotic reality of an early-stage startup.

The Balance of Power

Zulfah had never been an entrepreneur until she married me. She was fully in the corporate world, but she learned on the go. She found a way to create a balance — growing in her own career while being the most active, supportive backbone of Haqqman.

Working with me became her stepping stone to the powerhouse she is today. And for me, she became the proof that collaboration doesn't start in the boardroom; it starts at the dinner table.

To the Men Waiting for "The Perfect Time"

I’ll say this to the men who have been "dating" for years, waiting for the economy to stabilize or for the "perfect" moment: If you genuinely want to get married, find that person and get married.

The right partner doesn't take away from your hustle; they multiply it. They don't just "share" your vision; they expand it. Haqqman was born because Snazzee Interactive was too small for two giants.

True success isn't about running the race alone. It’s about building a dynasty with someone who is as aggressive about your growth as you are.
